What this is
BenchmarkRegistry is a publication venue for rules-based equity indices. The site does not select constituents, decide weights, or judge index quality. It runs the calculation engine, records the levels with an immutable audit trail, and serves the result. Every index published here carries the same guarantees; the methodology of the index itself lives with the index owner.
Why it exists
Index publishers have historically owned both the methodology and the calculation surface, and their audit trails are private. When a published level changes, a reader has no way to reconstruct why, or to see what the old number was. When a value is restated, the old bundle is gone.
BenchmarkRegistry inverts that: the audit trail is the deliverable. Every published date is hash-chained. Every restatement carries a mandatory reason and a per-date diff. Every prior version stays fully retrievable at the same URLs, indefinitely. The methodology is the index owner’s document; the record of what was published, when, and why is the registry’s.
Voice
There is no marketing layer over the math. The registry does not claim best-in-class, industry-leading, or institutional-grade anything. It publishes the numbers a specified engine produces from specified inputs, with a public record of every deviation from that path. Where a finding looks small, concentrated, or unusual, the finding is published as-is.
Publisher
BenchmarkRegistry is a standalone product of ET2 Labs LLC, run by George Clay. The engine’s internal codename is PFIndex; the public name is BenchmarkRegistry. See the contact page.
Relationship to Clay Indices
Clay Indices is a separate methodology house that publishes index methodologies (including the RareEarth Index, the first index registered here). Clay Indices is not part of BenchmarkRegistry, and BenchmarkRegistry is not part of the Clay Indices family. Clay Indices owns its methodologies; BenchmarkRegistry runs the calculation engine and publishes the record.
An index does not have to be a Clay Indices product to register here.
